The Ultimate Compact Wave Sail for Jumping and Spinning

The QU4D is our compact 4-batten wave sail, especially well-suited for jumping and « spinning » wave sailing with extra-fast rotations. Features the exclusive Wave Vision window that is clear all the way to the mast. The experience of wave riding with virtually no visual restrictions. This feature lets you avoid looking through a « window, » giving you a full visual range and making jibes and other maneuvers more effortless as you carve and turn through the waves.

Dual Clew Positions for Maximum Versatility

Incorporating a low clew option to improve down-the-line wave sailing, this allows the sail to mimic the KS3 boom angle, which allows you to get up and under the lip better than the high clew position. The upper clew position is better suited to extreme jumping and onshore sailing. Sailors who liked the QU4D but felt the KS3 was better down the line are now totally satisfied with QU4D in all conditions.

Designed to rig on short masts, the overall rig weight is reduced further. You will only need a 400 to rig the 6.0m through 5.2m, a 370 to rig the 5.0 m through 4.3 m, and a 340 for the smallest sizes.

Initialement développée en 2013 par Kauli Seadi, Jeffrey Henderson et Tom Hammerton, la KS3 s’est constamment imposée comme la meilleure et la plus respectée des voiles de vague à trois lattes. Considérée par beaucoup comme l’une des meilleures voiles de vague quel que soit le nombre de lattes, la KS3 a remporté de nombreux concours de l’Aloha Classic dans la division professionnelle. En 2022, elle a remporté le premier concours de vague de la PWA au Cap-Vert avec Bernd Roediger battant les meilleurs mondiaux sur sa KS3. C’est la seule voile à trois lattes prouvée pour performer de manière incroyable au plus haut niveau de la pratique de la vague, et beaucoup l’ont trouvée être la meilleure voile de vague de surf au monde.

La LKS3 est la voile la plus stable et la plus directe de notre gamme. Puissante mais incroyablement stable, sa conception à trois lattes a beaucoup moins d’inertie, ce qui se traduit par des temps de réponse plus rapides et une sensation améliorée. Le résultat est une vague plus explosive et une action plus rapide dans les airs. Pour ceux qui ne pratiquent pas la vague, la LKS3 est une voile incroyable qui ne semble jamais être en surpuissance et conserve une sensation verrouillée dans toutes les conditions de vent.

La fenêtre en monofilm lithium de 4 mils a été réduite en taille pour permettre le poids incroyablement léger que nous avons obtenu. Elle est très claire et résiste très bien. Le film plus fin est en fait moins vulnérable aux fissures et aux défaillances qu’un monofilm plus lourd, et il est moins raide. L’avant de la fenêtre reste ouvert vers le mât. L’expérience de la vague avec pratiquement aucune restriction visuelle rend cette fonctionnalité très améliorée. Cela est utile même sur l’eau plate lors des virements de bord. Cela rend les autres manœuvres beaucoup plus faciles en offrant une meilleure perception périphérique visuelle qui améliore votre équilibre. Sail Specifications:

The PW4 is our power wave sail designed for speed, and action in all conditions. Based off the KS3, we redesigned the shape of the sail above the boom and added an additional batten. The result is power and speed not found in any of our other wave sails.

For larger sailors this is a boost that levels the playing field with smaller sailors on less powerful sails like the KS3. The sail has a significantly tighter leech and even when rigged with high downhaul tension, the twist point of the sail is much higher up the leech delivering more power.

The PW4 includes the full-size Wave Vision window all the way to the sleeve for unparalleled visibility. The feel is stiffer and more direct than the KS3 or the QU4D. For jumping, the PW4 is a forward looper’s dream sail with instant whip when sheeted in. If you ever wanted to try a double, this is your sail!

Developed 11 years ago by Kauli Seadi, Jeffrey Henderson, and Tom Hammerton, the KS3 has consistently proven itself as the undisputed finest and most respected 3 batten wave sail. Considered by many as one of the best wave sails regardless of the number of battens, the KS3 has won many of the Aloha Classic contests in the pro division. In 2022 it won the first PWA wave contest in Capo Verde with Bernd Roediger beating the world’s best on his KS3.  It is the only 3 batten sail proven to perform amazingly at the highest level of wave riding, and many have found it to be the best down the line wave sail in the world.

The KS3 is the most stable and direct sail in our line. It is powerful yet unbelievably stable as the three-batten design has radically less sail momentum which leads to faster response times and improved feel. The result is a more explosive wave ride and quicker action in the air. For those not in the waves, the KS3 is an amazing sail that seemingly does not get overpowered and maintains a locked-in feel under all wind conditions.

Last year we introduced the stunning Wave Vision window that opens to the mast. The experience of wave riding with virtually no visual restrictions makes this feature a dramatic improvement. It is helpful even on flat water while making jibes. It makes other maneuvers so much easier by having more visual peripheral perception which improves your balance. This is the most significant change in the KS3 since its inception.

We added of SPIDERwebbing® ripstop in the foot area and a new top chafe pad made from our recently improved lightweight ROX Webbing. The ROX material sleeve will resist even a broken mast!

Also, our ballistic batten SuperSkin® is used on all 8mm and mini battens. This skin adds structure and helps contain batten breakage allowing for mess-free replacement with no sail damage.
